Day 1: Arrival Madrid, Spain
Highlights of the day: Evening transfer to the Gran Via area. Welcome to Madrid Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting for you and transfer you to your hotel, where your tour guide will welcome you and give you an overview of the sightseeing and itinerary for the coming days. At the end of the day, we will provide you with transportation to visit the Egyptian Temple of Debod, Plaza de España and the lively Gran Via area where you can dine at one of your favorite restaurants serving a variety of dishes including Indian, Chinese, Spanish, Middle Eastern and many other meals.
Day 2: Madrid, Spain
Today’s highlights: Madrid City Tour, Madrid Bullring and Retiro Park. This morning, our guide will take us on a sightseeing tour of the city, including the vibrant city center, the beautiful Plaza Mayor (main square), the wide avenues and the many fountains. Our tour also includes a visit to the magnificently designed bullring. We will learn more about the “corridas” tradition at the Bullfighting Museum. The day also includes a walking tour of the beautiful Retiro Park, which is enhanced by the lake and the Crystal Palace. The afternoon is free, where you can join one of the optional tours and visit the Royal Palace. At sunset, we will transfer to Plaza de Oriente, located in the historic center of Madrid, opposite the Royal Palace. There are many restaurants in this area serving a variety of delicious cuisines, including Indian, Middle Eastern, Spanish and international dishes. At the end of the day, we return to the hotel.
Day 3: Madrid – Zaragoza – Poblet – Montserrat – Barcelona, Spain
Today's highlights: Visit some medieval religious monuments and take the train. We leave Madrid early in the morning and head towards Aragon, stopping in Zaragoza, where our guide will take us on a tour of some medieval religious monuments. Afterwards, we will have free time in the city centre. Later, we continue to Catalonia where we will see another medieval religious monument (entrance with our guide included). We will then take the train and enjoy the wonderful views all the way to Montserrat, arriving in Barcelona in the late afternoon. Important note: In the winter months, from November to March, due to the short daylight hours, we may not be able to visit the Poblet religious monument (so that we can reach Montserrat in daylight).
Day 4: Barcelona, Spain
Today’s highlights: Barcelona city tour, visit to the “Spanish Village” and evening transfer to Las Ramblas. Today we will get to know Barcelona, the impressive city located on the Mediterranean Sea. Our visit today includes a guided tour of the city. . Then we will visit the historic center of the city, the medieval Gothic Quarter and the area where the Olympic Games were held. We will also be able to see and photograph La Sagrada Familia, the masterpiece designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí. Later, our guide will give us an entrance ticket to the “Poble Español” or Spanish Village, an open-air architectural museum located in one of the most emblematic areas of Barcelona. We will enjoy buying some of the best Spanish crafts, discovering the architectural styles and learning about the traditions and folklore of the different communities in Spain. Afterwards, you will have free time to explore the city on your own and at your own pace. In the evening, we provide you with transportation to Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya, where you can choose from a wide variety of restaurants (including Indian, Chinese, Halal and delicious Spanish dishes). At the end of the day we return to the hotel.
Day 5: Barcelona – Peniscola – Valencia, Spain
Today's highlights: Visit Peniscola, a beautiful walled city with a castle overlooking the sea, then explore the Valencian City of Arts and Sciences, and return in the evening. We travel south along the Mediterranean to stop in Peniscola, a small walled town on the seafront. Our guide will give us a short introduction to the town and some of its attractions, then we will explore it in our own way, exploring the fishing port, the castle and the beach. After that, it is time for lunch, then we travel to Valencia, the third largest city in Spain, where we will see the City of Arts and Sciences, the most important modern tourist site in Valencia. After that, we walk through the historic center of the city, accompanied by our guide to one of the monuments. In the evening, we will move to the bullring, where we will have time to eat and choose our favorite dish from among Spanish, Indian, international, etc. At the end of the day, we return to the hotel.
Day 6: Valencia – Alicante – Caravaca – Granada, Spain
Today's highlights: Take the tourist train in Carabaca. Today we continue our journey through the province of Valencia until we reach Alicante, where we spend some time strolling around this lively seaside city. After lunch we make our way to the region of Murcia, where we visit Carabaca, a town with many Christian monuments. We then take the tourist train to the historic area, and then continue our journey along the scenic route to Andalusia, arriving in Granada at the end of the day.
Day 7: Granada, Spain
Today's highlights: Visit the Alhambra, evening transfer to Plaza de Gracia. Full day in Granada with a tour of the Alhambra (entrance ticket included with a guide) and a visit to the Generalife (a palace located near the Alhambra and 1 km away, which was used as a park for rest and relaxation by the kings of Granada). After that, it is time for lunch, then we will spend the afternoon at leisure. In the evening, we will transfer by bus to Plaza de Gracia in the center of Granada, where many restaurants offer a variety of local flavors and dishes, in addition to Spanish, international, Chinese, Latin, etc. dishes. You will also have the opportunity to attend a flamenco show and visit the Sacromonte neighborhood. Note: In the Alhambra complex, a limited number of people are allowed to enter the Nazari Palaces at the same time. Visiting times may sometimes be during the afternoon, depending on the schedules that allow us to visit. If you can't visit this part of the Alhambra, there is a visit to the Alcázares in Seville (which has the same architectural features and designs).
Day 8: Granada – Malaga – Marbella – Ronda – Seville, Spain
Today's highlights: Visit to Ronda, a municipality in the province of Malaga, in the Andalusian region of southern Spain. We leave Granada today and head towards the Costa del Sol, arriving in Malaga, where we will spend some time strolling through the historic center and visiting one of the monuments and the Picasso Museum. We will then continue our journey along the coastal highway amidst beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea, and visit Puerto Banus in Marbella, a high-class recreational port. Afterwards, it is time for lunch, and in the afternoon we will continue our journey through the beautiful hills to Ronda, a very beautiful white town with a large waterway dividing it in two. Finally, we will continue our journey to Seville, which we will arrive at the end of the afternoon.
Day 9: Seville, Spain
Today's highlights: Guided tour of Seville, evening transfer by coach to the historic city center. After breakfast, our guide will take us on a sightseeing tour of Seville, including a visit to one of the historic buildings and the famous Giralda (a tower in Seville, one of its most important landmarks. It was once a minaret in the Great Mosque), a visit to the banks of the Guadalquivir River (a Spanish river that runs through Andalusia and empties into the Atlantic Ocean west of the Strait of Gibraltar), and a visit to the popular neighborhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana, and the beautiful Plaza de España. Note: The tour can be organized in Spanish and English, if the group is less than fifteen travelers). We will then enjoy some free time, and at the end of the afternoon, we will go to the historic city center (Calle Alfonso) where you can find many different restaurants, and choose your favorite dish from halal Indian, Chinese, Spanish, etc.
Day 10: Seville - Cordoba - Consuegra - Madrid
Our itinerary includes a transfer from Seville through the Guadalquivir to Cordoba where we will have free time to walk around the neighborhoods of this ancient city, where we will accompany our guide to visit the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba (ticket included) and the old Synagogue. We will continue our journey through the Castilian fields to stop in Consuegra, famous for its giant windmills. We will then travel to Madrid and arrive there at the end of the day.
