DAY 1: AlUla (Arrival)
On arrival at the AlUla Airport, clear the airport exit formalities and meet with your driver. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in AlUla as per the transfer booked. Upon arrival check in to the hotel and relax. Standard check-in time is between 14:00 Hrs to 15:00 Hrs. AlUla is one of the very few places in the world where one can experience the feeling of a true explorer charting the unknown. AlUla was historically located on the Incense route. It was the capital of the ancient Lihyanites (Dedanites) and is well known for archaeological remnants, some over 2000 years old. Later in the evening, we proceed to Alula Old Town. Get a glimpse into AlUla’s not-so-distant past on AlUla Old Town Tour. A Rawi (guide) will lead you through AlUla Old Town, where pilgrims, travelers, and permanent settlers congregated through the ages. Inhabited from before the 12th century up until the early 1980s, AlUla Old Town offers researchers unique oral histories and living memories that the area’s other heritage sites cannot. With 900 houses, 500 shops, and 5 town squares, you can explore a maze of remnants of original stone and mudbrick buildings and enjoy views of an AlUla Castle dating back to the 10th century. Guest will learn about Old Town’s settlers and pilgrims, as well as their motives and methods in the city’s construction
DAY 2: AlUla (Hegra)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel & we proceed for Half Day Hegra Experience. Visit Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the largest preserved site of the Nabataean civilization south of Petra. Home to more than 110 tombs carved from giant rock formations, this ancient site is open for visitors to explore and learn about the culture, traditions, and history of its people. Later in the afternoon, we visit Elephant Rock in AlUla. Set in Golden Desert sands and climbing its stories into the Saudi Arabian Sky, is the awe-inspiring elephant rock (Also known as Jabel Al-Fil) one of Al Ula’s many geological Marvels. Unlike the ornate, hand-carved facades of nearby Hegra’s Nabataean tombs, the “trunk” and “body” of this monolithic red sandstone beast were shaped by natural forces — millions of years of wind and water erosion. The beauty of the unrefined structure is enhanced by a landscape of golden sands, studded with rocky outcrops, many of which are equally impressive in size and have interesting shapes and figures.
DAY 3: AlUla (Dadan and Ikhmah)
Morning breakfast at your hotel. Today morning we proceeded for a half-day tour of Dadan & Jabal Ikmah. Discover the ancient and powerful civilizations of the Dadanite and Lihyanite kingdoms on a guided bus trip to the ruins of Dadan and Jabal Ikmah. Amongst the most significant discoveries in all of AlUla is the city of Dadan, the capital of the Dadan and Lihyan kingdoms. The city, which was built meticulously from stone and astride the valley’s oasis, dates back between the late 9th and early 8th century BCE (Kingdom of Dadan) and 5th–2nd century BCE (Kingdom of Lihyan). Jabal Ikmah, a mountain near the ancient city of Dadan, the capital of the Dadanite and Lihyanite Kingdoms, has been described as a huge open-air library.
